The mod is working to get things back up and running. We'll just have to wait it out. ETA: Had a couple of people asking for an older fic - meaning the ones I have not tagged here on IJ yet - so, I figured I'd just link you my LJ tags. Jesus. But someone asked the difference between kinky sex and Lifestyle. And the answers to this are endless. Especially if you try to use nothing but serious, technical type jargon. the_minx_17	12:24p	Hi! My name is Minxie… …and I'm a submissive. As in, a contracted and collared sub to my husband, Matt. D/s, BDSM, leather, lifestyle, call it what you will. It is what it is. Originally, I intended to post something like an introduction because, as my fandoms branch out, there are new people on my flist. And I tend to be loud and opinionated when it comes to head exploding kink fics. Figured offering some insight to me might help explain the tangent rants I sometimes have. Along with the fact that most, if not all, of my fics have some display of power dynamics, no matter how subtle. I'm sure those of you who know me best find that to be an understatement. Heh. This has morphed, through conversations with friends, into not only a hey, this is me post, but also one that, for lack of tact on my part, is a whoa! let's think about this before you write it post. Mainly because BDSM comes under enough fire without having misleading works of fiction floating around out there stirring up more trouble than they're worth. And, honestly, not trying to be a bitch, but if a piece of fiction disregards the basic principles of safe, sane, and consensual they really are more trouble than they're worth. They set a stage for others, those not in the scene, that can lead to misunderstandings, arguments, and, most important, serious injury. Not cool. Not when it takes just a few lines of dialogue, or even implied conversation to lend believability and credibility to the work. To that end, I've started a list. ( Which is actually quite funny seeing as I despise lists. ) Got questions? Ask 'em. I'd rather you ask me something embarrassing than you make my head go splodey in the next fic I run across. * * * Whoa! I went and saw a nutritionist on Monday and since I was sort of having to stop and think today, I figured I'd write down everything she told me so I am less likely to forget. And since I have the benefit of free nutritional advice, I figured I'd share with y'all what she said to me. Note: I know some of you are uncomfortable with "weight loss" posts, but this is only tangentially about weight loss. Mostly it's just a way for the hubby and I to get and STAY healthy. ( The Dos and Don'ts of Eating ) I have never in my life heard the phrases "eat CORRECTLY" and "portion control" as much as I did that day. However, three days later, here are the side effects I'm noticing: ( The Other Stuff ) Anyway, that's healthy eating 101 and you didn't have to go get bitched at by my skinny little nutritionist. For those who wonder how I ate before and how this differs: I ate once a day at dinner. I'd have maybe 800-1000 calories per day, all at once. Because I really don't like to eat at other times. So I'm eating "more" now, but I'm spacing it out and making healthier choices. (28 Comments |Comment on this)

eeyore9990	1:15p	OMG *face palm* Okay so. I have written, I think, one RPF. EVER. And that was when the Giants won the Superbowl and I was sort of high on everything to do with football and Eli Manning and yay Giants won! I'm a Cowboys fan at heart, but I'll take ANYONE over the Patriots and Eli Manning is sort of my personal favorite underdog and.... and that has nothing to do with anything today. Except to say, I never ever thought I'd be in this position again. All right, now, y'all know that I'm kinda half-obsessed with Star Trek Reboot fandom, right? And the main reason for that is Karl Urban's Bones (because he is awesome), and even though he's nothing like DeForest Kelley, I kinda like that because it makes the character his own. I mean, no one's topping TOS Bones for sheer awesomeness, but Karl Urban is... Well. I kinda have the hots for him in a way that may not be entirely legal. And because of this, I started thinking about the day the cast met him and how that went and (because every single guy but John Cho on that cast is "gay in my head") this is what happened. (Not Rare Enough, for those of you who wanna go read it. Which I think should be all of my HP flist.) Something she had in there made me start thinking along the lines of HP fic again. Heh.
